On a Saturday morning of June 4th, after a wet and stormy night the many volunteers of these two groups joined in setting up the several modes and operating positions for the 2005 Ensor special event. It has become an annual event used to benefit the Ensor Museum and Marshall H. Ensor, W9BSP.
The activity of setting up the several wire and vertical antennas was done with gusto and deliberation.
By before noon some signals were already going out across the country and the special event QSL was offered for a SASE. The afternoon included a picnic lunch spearheaded by everyone’s favorite leader, June Jeffers [aka KBØWEQ].
The weather was bright, sunny, and muggy with humidity. A soft breeze was enjoyed for the comfort it allowed. The operation went on with flawless precision and all were congratulated and thanked by Museum Director, Larry Woodworth. The W9BSP MEMO Club station was off the air during the day to offer clear frequencies for the event.
